Proverbs 3:25 “Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;”
Being afraid and full of fear paralyzes a person. Moving fearlessly by faith into the future grows us. For the believer sudden terror – unexpected trials – opposition from the wicked should activate dependence on the Lord. Psalms 56:3 “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Even if the thing you greatly feared has come upon you, and what you dreaded has happened to you (Job 3:25) we must know that “The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. (Lamentations 3:25). The proof of that is how He was with the three Hebrew children in the fire for their enemies cried out “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” (Daniel 3:25)
There is nothing to fear or be afraid of as you walk with God. Recall Psalm 23. Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (God is so confident in taking care of you that) 5 He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
By faith face the trials – even the sudden terrors – even the persecution of the wicked!! Do not be afraid!!
A March to Remember
For March 25, let us remember 1 Corinthians 11:25 starting with verse 24 which says, “And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
During the Passover meal, Jesus gave a piece of bread to represent His body and a cup of juice to represent His blood and said whenever we eat and drink remember what He did at the cross. Remember the suffering and remember the sacrifice.
On March 25 we encourage you to read Matthew 25 and Romans 5 to recall our Lord’s teaching on our faithfulness with talents and to be reminded of all that was accomplished by Christ when He died for us.
