Acts 2:24 “Whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.”
The cornerstone of cornerstones for Christianity is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul made this clear in 1 Corinthians 15:13-17 writing, “But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. 15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. 16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!”
Oh, vanish such a thought that Christ is not risen!!
Yes, He is risen. As Peter preached on the day of Pentecost, he made it clear that DEATH COULD NOT HOLD HIM! While Christ did die and He was buried, the third day He arose, (RESURRECTED) from the dead. Death was DEFEATED. We serve a risen Savior. His testimony is stated in Revelation 1:18 “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”
The ramifications of His resurrection are way too many to put in this devotional. Full books have been written and are worth your time to explore. What we do know is that since Christ was raised from the dead by God, we will one day be raised from the dead. (1 Cor. 6:14)
Believing what God did in raising Jesus from the dead is essential to salvation. Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Have you believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead
