2 Corinthians 6:2 “For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
A man, a man God would call a fool, sat around thinking about all he was going to do TOMORROW. God called this man a fool because there was something he needed to do TODAY that would IMPACT his eternal FUTURE. As he was busy PREPARING for a better earthly life, he had not done anything to prepare for a better eternal life. And God said to him, “Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?” Luke 12:20
Friends, man is appointed once to die, and then comes the judgment. Hebrews 9:27 Proverbs 27:1 says, “Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.”
Our verse stresses the URGENCY of accepting Jesus as SAVIOR. If you have not been saved today – TODAY – not tomorrow – surely not next week or next month or next year – TODAY is the day of salvation. BTW – If you are not saved, I fear that it just might be that you are hearing a whisper in your ear to not do it today. I fear you are hearing put it off till tomorrow. That, my friend, is the voice of Satan who would want you to die without Christ and spend all eternity in hell.
In the list of the greatest questions you must answer in this life, I ask you if you were to die 5 minutes after reading this devotional, where would you be spending eternity? Do you know for absolute certainty that you would enter into the presence of the Lord? As Dr. Jerry Falwell used to say, “Are you for sure you are going to heaven when you die, as if you have already been there 5 minutes?”
There were many days I didn’t know, but I do know now because I was born again. My spiritual birthday is February 15, 1983. TODAY, you can know for sure you are going to heaven when you die by being born again. You might be able to know for sure tomorrow – you might – but then again, you may not because this very night your soul may be required of you. Be PREPARED to meet God in the next moment.
Revelation 22:17 says, “And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” You are invited!
Continue Strong, not putting off till tomorrow what must be done today,
And remember to daily DATE the Word
