Proverbs 10:29 “The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.”
Throughout God’s Word, we learn that God’s ways, when followed, bring blessings and a fulfilling life. Our verse tells us that the upright receive strength as they follow the way of the Lord. The idea of “strength” here is that of protection or security. As one does what is right, one does not have to be concerned about the consequences of sin. On the other hand, for the one who is choosing to sin, sooner or later, your sin will be found out, and sooner or later, you will experience sin’s consequences, as sin is only pleasurable for a season.
Those who are upright (doing what is right) move forward with confidence, whereas the workers of iniquity will soon face dire consequences. Remember that after sin is conceived, it brings forth death (James 1:13).
It is wise to heed the warning here that destruction is in the future of one who practices sin.
Just a reminder, you make your choices and then your choices make you, with some choices bringing about great consequences. Are you making good choices?
