Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Every now and then, you come across a verse jammed filled with information about WHAT God is up to and about WHO our SAVIOR IS! Isaiah 9:6 is one such verse. We find that God is up to sending us His Son, who will be a human, and He will be GIVEN, which speaks of His sacrifice. We also read of His future that He will RULE the world. Then, in so many ways, this one verse provides what may be the most complete description of the Messiah and tells us He is everything we will ever need!
Pause to think about his names and what He provides:
In a world of confusion, He is a wonderful counselor! He is the smartest in the world!
In a world of chaos, He is the mighty God! He is the strongest in the world!
In a world of complexity, He is the everlasting Father (speaks for being the Founder). He is superior to everything in the world!
In a word of conflict, He is the Prince of peace! He is the Savior for all, as the greatest conflict of all is with God. We can have peace with God because of what Jesus did at the cross. See Romans 5:1.
In other words, Isaiah 9:6 tells us Christ is SUFFICIENT! What a SAVIOR.
Continue strong, relying on the one who can be everything you are facing,
