Jesus Only Saves

Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name” that any person can look to for salvation. Now these are controversial words indeed.  While all roads do lead to God as man is appointed once to die and then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27) and that judgment is before Almighty God, not all roads lead to heaven.  As sinners, we may choose a variety of roads to travel during our life and every road leads to hell unless, UNLESS, we choose to turn to the only one who provides salvation and that is Jesus Christ.  There is no other way to heaven than trusting Jesus Christ and His finished work.  He said no one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6). John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:36 says, “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

No matter what religion you have embraced if you have not been born again by trusting Jesus Christ, the perfect Son of God, the wrath of God abides on you.   And being neutral will do you no good.  If you die without a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ you will die and go to hell.

For most reading this I assume you are saying amen.  Maybe, however, you find it hard to believe that all roads don’t lead to heaven. Maybe you know some very sincere people who embrace other world religions.  You know good people who have not once stepped inside a church nor even read a verse of scripture from the Bible. Maybe you are having an internal battle that our wonderful God would be a wrathful God.  As we move toward Easter week may I remind you that Jesus did ask to NOT go to the cross.  He prayed to His Father and asked for the cup to be removed.  He asked three times and each time Jesus came to the conclusion it could not be His will that would be done but His Father’s will must be done.  Three times this took place.  Now if I get to heaven and I find out there are other people in heaven who did not trust Jesus but came another way (trusting another religion, trusting their good works, etc.) I do not want to stay.  Who would want to be around a father who required His Son to die the cruel death of crucifixion when He did not have to?  Friends, one of the fundamentals of the faith is that Jesus Christ is the only way – the only Person – who can provide salvation.  Do you believe this?

AN APRIL TO BELIEVE Note
With Easter on April 20, we are reading through the Gospel of John. On this April 12th, we encourage you to read/listen to John 12 where Christ is the Center of Attraction. The key verse regarding believing is John 12:44 as “Jesus cried out and said,  He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.” May this April be an April to Believe!
