The Latest Lesson: Passion Week – Walking with Jesus to the Cross

Posted on April 10, 2025

As we step into Passion Week, we are invited into the most sacred and powerful days of the Christian faith. It’s a week filled with tension, beauty, sorrow, and ultimate victory — a journey from the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem to the silence of the tomb, and finally, to the glory of the resurrection.

Palm Sunday: The King Enters

Jesus rides into Jerusalem not on a war horse, but on a humble donkey. Crowds shout “Hosanna!” laying down palm branches, celebrating a King who came not to conquer by force, but to save through love.

“Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” – Matthew 21:9

Monday: Righteous Anger and Cleansing

Jesus enters the temple and clears it of greed and corruption, reminding us that worship must be pure, not profit-driven. His actions challenge us to reflect: What tables need to be overturned in our own lives?

Tuesday: Teaching in the Temple

Jesus spends the day teaching parables, answering tough questions, and warning of hypocrisy. The religious leaders grow hostile. Yet Jesus, unshaken, continues to speak truth in love.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart…” – Matthew 22:37

Wednesday: A Quiet Plot

Behind the scenes, Judas agrees to betray Jesus. While the disciples go about their week, unaware, Jesus knows what lies ahead — and still chooses to walk toward it.

Thursday: The Last Supper

In an upper room, Jesus washes feet, breaks bread, and shares wine — redefining leadership as service and preparing His friends for what is to come.

“This is my body… this is my blood… Do this in remembrance of me.” – Luke 22:19–20

Friday: The Cross

Darkness falls at midday. Jesus is beaten, mocked, crucified. The sky cries out. Hope seems lost. But even in death, Jesus is not defeated.

“It is finished.” – John 19:30

Saturday: The Silence

The tomb is sealed. The disciples are scattered and grieving. But even in the waiting, God is working. Sometimes the silence is where the deepest transformation happens.

Sunday: He is Risen!

The grave is empty. Death has been defeated. Jesus is alive!

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” – Luke 24:5–6

This Passion Week, take time each day to reflect, to walk with Jesus, and to remember that the story didn’t end at the cross — it began at the resurrection.

Let this week shape how we live, love, and lead.
