1 Timothy 4:15 “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.”
Are you making any PROGRESS? Are you making real NOTICEABLE PROGRESS? Progress in what you may ask. The PROGRESS I want to know about is your PROGRESS in your TRANSFORMATION to become less like you and the world and more like JESUS! Are you making noticeable progress?
In school, we give PROGRESS reports about mid-way of a quarter as report cards go home at the end of the quarter. It allows the teacher, the student, and the parent to see how the student is progressing. What does your spiritual progress report look like? How have you grown and changed, say in the last month?
With the question regarding making noticeable progress also comes the question of WHAT PROCESS are you using to make progress. In this verse, Paul tells Timothy to MEDITATE on these things. What things? From the previous verses come several items. 1 Timothy 4:12 speaks of being an example. In verse 13 Paul tells Timothy ” Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”
Please hear me here. One essential part of the PROCESS for PROGRESS is to GET GOD’s WORD into your heart! We renew our minds by learning God’s Word. As we apply what we learn we are transformed. As we are transformed others see our PROGRESS!
What then does your process look like in order to make progress, progress that is evident to all?
You might ask a friend to tell you the most noticeable progress they have seen in you lately regarding your walk with the Lord.
AN APRIL TO BELIEVE Note
With Easter on this coming Sunday, April 20, we are reading through the Gospel of John. On this April 15th, we encourage you to read/listen to John 15 where Christ is the Vine. The key verse regarding trusting Jesus is John 15:5. It says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” May this April be an April to Believe!
Continue Strong making noticeable progress,
And remember to DATE The Word
