Revelation 1:18 “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”
How might you describe Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior? Revelation 1:18 is His testimony. He came to this world and lived among us. John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” As He lived among us He served. Mark 10:45 says, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” In the last part of verse 45, we see His main purpose for coming to live among us. He was born to die. 1 John 3:5 says, “And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.” To take away our sins He died.
And die is what He did. That is part of His testimony. Let us be clear. He died. He was dead. Luke 23:33 says, “And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him,”
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last.
John 19:33 says, “But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.”
He lived, and He died. That is His testimony.
But that is not all of His testimony. His story continues for He arose from the dead and He is ALIVE! Matthews 28:5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 “He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
With His resurrection, He was victorious over hell and death! He has the KEYS of Hades and death. In having the KEYS He has the authority over hell, the grave, and over death!
How do you describe Him? He is the VICTORIOUS Savior!
