Luke 8:15 “But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.”
How can you be fruitful, very fruitful for the Lord? From the parable of the sower that Jesus taught the heart that will be most fruitful, most productive is a NOBLE heart, a GOOD heart, and a heart that KEEPS or OBEYS the Word.
A NOBLE HEART. Being very transparent, I must admit that I had not noticed the word NOBLE before. Somehow, I had overlooked one of the most essential elements for being fruitful. This led me to dive into this verse much deeper, especially focusing on the word NOBLE.
One of the first things I realized was that while Jesus is very concerned about my response to the Word (See Matthew 7:24-27), He is also very concerned about my RECEPTIVITY to the Word (which is what the entire parable of the sower focuses on).
The best receptivity for the Word of God starts with a noble heart.
What then is a noble heart? That which is noble is pure. The noble heart is honest. In being honest, the heart first tells the truth about God, for a fool says in his heart there is NO God. It also tells the truth about God’s Word that God’s Word is TRUE. The noble heart does not argue with God but accepts that He is right. And the honest heart tells itself the truth. Psalm 15:2 says the man of integrity speaks the truth to himself. There is never going to be transformation as long as a person lies to themselves.
In bringing a noble heart to your reading of the Word of God, the Word of God can now get into your heart and grow, which leads to fruitfulness.
What kind of heart are you bringing to God’s Word?
What kind of receptivity are you having with the Word of God?
Continue Strong with a noble heart,
And remember to DATE the Word
