Matthew 6:6 “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
Some of the strongest work we do will be “being in” secret! Some of the strongest work we will do will not appear to be WORK as we usually define what work is. Some of the strongest work we do will appear to many (even ourselves) to be “strange.” We say it is “strange” because prayer is so misunderstood. Instead of DOING, we are REQUESTING from and TRUSTING in another, trusting in One that is unseen. Instead of using our hands to help a person or even ourselves, instead of using our mouth to speak to a person, we are using our heart to talk with God.
Spending time in prayer gives no outward appearance of accomplishing anything. While those who are not saved would see it as a waste of time, even believers wonder if it is a waste of time.
Do you think spending time in secret in prayer a waste of time?
I read that Martin Luther, the great reformer of the Reformation, said, “I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.” He did not think prayer was a waste of time. I ask again, do you? I believe he would agree that your private prayer life must precede your public life!
The secret of a believer’s strength is found in a secret place where the believer seeks the One in secret!
Do you have a secret place? Do you spend time in the secret place? Do you seek your Heavenly Father?
The strongest you will ever be is on your knees in secret seeking Him!!
Continue Strong on your knees in a secret place, praying,
And remember to daily DATE the Word
