If you visit Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, you will find the Hollywood Walk of Fame. From Wikipedia, we learn that the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a historic landmark that consists of more than 2,800 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street. (I have had the opportunity to walk some of those blocks). It goes on to say, “The stars are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of musicians, actors, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others.”
Friends – these are not “permanent” stars. One day, those sidewalks will crumble, and those names will be forgotten. BUT based on Daniel 12:3, you can be a STAR by being a soul winner!!!
As we move through the Christmas season (not limited to only now but especially now) BE a light in the darkness, pointing a sinner (or sinners) to the Savior. As you shine, you will be the real “STAR!”
So, from Daniel 12:3, let us be reminded that the WISE shine like stars, pointing people to Jesus!!! Each of us are little lights that we are to BE shining – shining in our homes and neighborhoods and communities and yes all around the world. I challenge you to BE a soul winning star for the Savior!
Wise men don’t just seek the Savior – they share the news of the Savior!
Verse to DATE the Word on December 3 (12/3) is Daniel 12:3. It says, “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
It is the soul winner that makes a permanent, eternal impact!!
